In couple of weeks it will be the end of summer, which also means that the most of the year has passed. During autumn we will start collecting guidelines of new trends for 2017. Every year different companies release new products such as paint colours, wallpaper, fabrics, tile collections etc. but there is always a risk that people will not accept. Truth is that people as customers make design trends reality. So, today I invite you to have a look on what kind of design trends became the most successful during 2016.

#1 Neutral background (Soft Grey)

It is very classical colour scheme when you build neutral background and add colours in accessories as little accents. This year soft grey is the most wanted in interior 2016!

#2 PANTONE 13-1520 Rose Quartz and PANTONE 15-3919 Serenity

That’s how Pantone describes them:

First one is “the soothing, calming nature of colors in the Spring collections are led by PANTONE 13-1520 Rose Quartz, a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Like a serene sunset, flushed cheek or budding flower, Rose Quartz reminds us to reflect on our surroundings during the busy but lighthearted spring and summer months.”
and Few words about Second: ” Weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, PANTONE 15-3919 Serenity comforts with a calming effect, bringing a feeling of respite even in turbulent times. A transcendent blue, Serenity provides us with a naturally connected sense of space.”

Well, how can you resist from having rose sunset and fresh blue sky in your room! Sounds very refreshing!

These two became the most memorising and now also the most recognisable combination of accent colours 2016.

#3 Rich colours

We can see a different colour pallet of rich tones this year green, teal, blue, red, black etc. Whole spectre is here.

#4 Natural wood

Presence of Natural wood grains stays strong in interior. It can be used not only in flooring but also in furniture and interior architecture.

#6 Organic accessories:

Simple glass jars with flowers, plants in a pot, handmade craft. These elements has been borrowed from traditional style and add casualty in interior.

#7 Functional minimalism

Interiors are clutter free with clever storage solutions and well organized space in general.

#8 Tiles have own trend

Cement Brushed tiles with Vintage or Victorian pattern is a star!

#9 Pendants Rock!

#10. Airy interiors are in a wish list!

Leave windows undressed or add curtains from the ceiling to the floor. Long curtains add the height to the room. If you plan a new build, consider large, wide windows and double doors.

In general, I can add that all trends are up to freshness, simplicity and maximum practicality. It remind me of main principals of Scandinavian style and its influence here is clear. In many Interiors we can see furniture with simple lines, organic textures and practical fabrics such as linen, cotton and velvet.

I hope you found few fresh ideas for your own house!

See you next time!
